A shield against scam links and hijacked accounts

Catches scam links and stolen accounts spreading them, quarantines the member, and lets members report messages to mods.

The scam shield reads every message for the signs of a scam: lookalike domains of Discord, Steam, Roblox and Epic Games (dlscord.gg, steamcommunlty.com), bait words on a brand domain (nitro, gift, claim, airdrop, hypesquad, support), masked links whose text shows one site while the link goes to another, free-Nitro and free-Robux bait with a link, another server's invite, and @everyone with a link. Real brand domains, big sites like YouTube and GitHub, your allowlisted domains and code blocks (members quoting a scam to warn others) are never flagged.

The hijacked-account shield watches for what a stolen account does: the same post with a link, an invite or an attachment in several channels within a minute. You choose how many channels count, from 2 to 10.

Either shield quarantines the member: their copies are deleted across the server, they are timed out (10 minutes to 28 days, your choice) and sent a DM with steps to secure the account. The mod-log alert has one-click Lift timeout, Kick and Ban buttons, checked against the clicker's own permissions.

Members can report anything else themselves: right-click a message, then Apps › Report to mods. The report lands in the mod log with the message, a jump link and Delete, Timeout and Ban buttons, so nobody has to ping staff in public. Turn on lock down during a raid in automod and a join raid also pauses the server's invites through Discord's own incident tools, for up to 24 hours.

.deathboard [on|off] [#channel]: A trap channel for hacked and spam accounts: anyone but staff who posts there is banned and their recent messages are wiped. on creates #death-board (or uses an empty channel you give); off turns it off. Needs Ban Members and Manage Server to change.

Questions

How do I stop scam links on my Discord server?

Turn on Modu's scam shield in the dashboard's Automod section or ask the agent. Lookalike links, fake Nitro and free-Robux bait, masked links that lie and @everyone with a link are removed and the member is quarantined.

What happens when a member's Discord account gets hacked?

A stolen account usually posts the same scam in every channel. The hijacked-account shield sees the same post in several channels within a minute, deletes every copy, times the member out and DMs them how to reset their password and remove unknown apps. Lift the timeout from the mod-log alert once they have.

Will it flag normal links?

It only acts on scam signs. Real Discord, Steam, Roblox and Epic Games domains, big sites like YouTube, Twitch, GitHub and Reddit, your allowed domains, links in code blocks and forwards are left alone, and moderators are never filtered.

How do members report a message?

Right-click the message (long-press on phones), then Apps › Report to mods. Each member can send 5 reports every 10 minutes, and repeat reports of one message join the same alert.
