How to set up welcome messages and welcome cards in Discord
Ask Modu for welcome messages and it greets each new member in the channel you choose, with an image welcome card showing their avatar and name. You can add goodbye messages and design the card in a drag-and-drop editor with a live preview.

Step by step
- 1
Sign in and add the bot
Go to modu.ubits.tech, continue with Discord, and add Modu to your server in one click. Adding it with Administrator lets every feature work without asking for permissions again; Modu's tools still never create or grant Administrator roles.
- 2
Start a plan
The AI agent and every bot feature are in every paid plan, starting with Starter. Pick one on the pricing page; you can change or cancel it any time.
- 3
Ask for a welcome message
Say "Welcome new members in #welcome with a welcome card". Placeholders like {user.mention}, {server.name} and {inviter} (who invited them) work in the text.
- 4
Design the card
Open Bot features, Cards, Welcome: move the avatar and text, change colours, add a background image, with a live preview of the Discord message.
What to ask Modu
- “Welcome new members in #welcome with a welcome card”
- “Add a goodbye message too”
- “Make the welcome card match our banner”
Tips
- Point new members to your rules and role menu in the welcome text.
Questions
Can the welcome card use my server's banner?
Yes. Use the server banner or any image link as the card background, and adjust the dim so text stays readable.
