How to set up a Discord server with AI

Describe the server you want to Modu, an AI agent for Discord, and it builds it: categories, channels, roles and permission overwrites, then bot features like welcome messages, tickets and leveling. You see the plan first, approve anything destructive, and can undo reversible changes.

Step by step

  1. 1

Sign in and add the bot

Go to modu.ubits.tech, continue with Discord, and add Modu to your server in one click. Adding it with Administrator lets every feature work without asking for permissions again; Modu's tools still never create or grant Administrator roles.

  2. 2

    Start a plan

The AI agent and every bot feature are in every paid plan, starting with Starter. Pick one on the pricing page; you can change or cancel it any time.

  3. 3

    Describe the community

Open a chat for the server and say what it is for and who it is for, or start from a template (community hub, gaming clan, creator studio, support desk, developer community, hackathon or study group). Mention the rooms, roles and rules you want.

  4. 4

    Review and approve the plan

Modu shows each change before it runs. Additions run straight away, renames and permission changes follow your setting, and anything destructive waits for your approval. Reversible changes can be undone from the history.

  5. 5

    Add the features you need

Ask for welcome messages, a ticket system, leveling, role menus or automod in the same chat. Each one is set up and can be fine-tuned later on the Bot features page.

What to ask Modu

  • “Set up a professional developer community with rules, roles and a staff area”
  • “Build a gaming clan server with LFG channels, voice rooms and a member role”
  • “Add a staff category only moderators can see”

Tips

  • Start small and ask for more: the agent reads the live server each time, so later requests build on what is already there.
  • Ask for an audit afterwards to catch anything @everyone can see that it should not.

Questions

Can AI really set up a Discord server?

Yes. Modu creates categories, channels, roles and permission overwrites through Discord's API from a plain-language request, and configures its bot features in the same chat.

Will it delete my existing channels?

Not without asking. Deletions are marked dangerous and always wait for your approval, and the plan lists them before anything runs.

Do I need to know Discord permissions?

No. Describe who should see what (for example, staff only) and the agent writes the permission overwrites; you can read each one in the plan.
